7th Grade Mathematics

Welcome!

My name is Ms Chan, and I love being a part of our Slocum Skewes School community. I teach 7th grade Math . This is my 7th year in the classroom, and I truly enjoy helping students gain skills that will serve them in school and in life.

I earned my B.A. from Brandeis University and my M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania, and I am certified to teach grades K–8. In the classroom, I aim to build both strong academic skills and confidence, encouraging students to see learning as something valuable and meaningful.

Seventh grade math is an important foundation for high school and beyond. It strengthens problem-solving and prepares students for more advanced topics, while also showing them how math connects to the real world.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my four young adult children, traveling to cheer on my daughter at her collegiate soccer games, trying new foods and restaurants when all my kids are together, and supporting them as they are just starting their careers.

I look forward to getting to know each of my students this year and partnering with families to make it a positive and successful experience for everyone.
