Hello and Welcome! My name is Lorraine Ferrante. I am a special education teacher at Slocum Skewes School. I am entering my 23rd year in the Ridgefield School District. 

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in English and Speech Communication from Kean College of NJ. I have a Master's Degree in fine arts from Rutgers University and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Phoenix.

My teaching certificates in the state of NJ include Teacher of Students with Disabilities, Elementary Teacher K-6 and Teacher of English.

My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that all children want to succeed and all children are capable of learning and succeeding! It is my job to find the necessary modifications for each individual child that will open up their unique pathways to learning.

In my spare time outside of the classroom I enjoy walking my Golden Retriever, Willow and reading mysteries. I also love dining out!
