About Ms. Peterson
My name is Kara Peterson and this is my ninth year teaching in Ridgefield! I am really excited to share my love of reading and writing with you! I attended William Paterson University as part of the Honors college, where I majored in English (Writing), and Education (K-8 ELA). I also just completed my Master's degree in Teaching Writing in grades P-12.

While at WPU, I was published in the literary magazine, Zeitgeist, and won first prize in a department-wide writing contest! I also completed my Honors thesis for the Creative Arts track, where I wrote the first 50 pages of a Young Adult Novel. My Masters thesis was selected to be published as well; it focuses on the importance of receiving writing feedback for middle school aged students.
When I'm not preparing for a fun-filled year of teaching, I am at home with my cat, Moo, reading my bookshelf full of novels, writing down my next great story idea, playing video games, or watching Netflix, Twitch, and YouTube!
I am so excited to get to know each and every one of my students and explore a world full of literature!
