Meet Mrs. Maric

Mrs. Anna Maric

My name is Anna Maric and I’m the school counselor for grades six through eight at Slocum Skewes School. Before counseling, I was a middle school teacher in Ridgefield for six years. I received my bachelor's degree from Rutgers University, where I studied psychology, sociology, and criminology. I received my master's degree in counseling from Seton Hall University, and my teacher certification from William Paterson University.

I'm aware of the ever changing emotional and academic challenges that students encounter. My philosophy is to guide students to achieve success in their academic, personal, and social development.  In order to achieve this goal, I collaborate with students' families, teachers, and administrators.  I continue to take courses in counseling to address students' needs. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, cooking, and nature.
